RCCP Team Pursues International EMS Title



As the nation recognizes the month of September as National Preparedness month, the National Champion San Diego County paramedic team will show off their emergency response skills as the United States’ representatives at an international emergency medical services (EMS) competition in Australia from September 26-28.

The team is competing on behalf of the San Diego Regional Cooperative Care Program (RCCP),an innovative public-private partnership in San Diego County and is comprised of Dannie Myers from American Medical Response (AMR) San Diego, Jim Marugg from the San Miguel Consolidated Fire Protection District and Cory Brown from the Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District. The paramedics advanced to the international competition by winning first place at the fourth annual national EMS Games in Baltimore, Maryland in March.

The international competition, part of the Australian College of Ambulance Professionals’ Asia Pacific International Conference, will begin with preliminary rounds September 26 and conclude on September 28 with the announcement of the winners. The team departs for Australia on September 20.
