AMR utilizes SimMan, an interactive computerized medical
training mannequin for continuing education of our employees, quality assurance
and employee pre-screening. SimMan can be programmed with unusual cases,
allowing caregivers to practice complex scenarios that are otherwise hard
to recreate for quality improvement or education purposes.

The safety concept ambulance is a new vehicle developed by AMR to include significant safety enhancements designed to improve patient care, wellbeing of field crews and overall protection of the community. Features include a fully integrated child safety restraint system, IV fluid warmers, automatic climate control in the rear of the ambulance, securing devices for medical equipment and increased external visibility via an LED emergency warning lighting system and hyper-reflective markings.

AMR’s Continuous Quality Improvement program forms
the cornerstone of our pre-hospital care delivery system and ensures clinical
excellence. Our Medical Director and Clinical and Educational Services
staff, Operations Manager and Field Supervisors constantly evaluate our
caregivers’ performance and make improvements in order to consistently
provide optimal patient care.

AMR’s Medical Director participates in San Diego County’s
Protocol Review Task Force which analyzes employee clinical performance
and makes recommendations affecting local protocols to the benefit of EMS
providers throughout the area.

AMR sponsors local continuing education programs that work
to reinforce and hone clinical knowledge and skills each month. These educational
opportunities are also offered to our partner fire agencies.

AMR seeks opportunities to participate in medical research
studies, such as UCSD’s Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium, to continually
improve the care we provide to our patients and improve the pre-hospital
health care system.
