AMR remains on the leading edge of innovation in the San Diego County EMS system.

AMR utilizes SimMan, an interactive computerized medical training mannequin for continuing education of our employees, quality assurance and employee pre-screening. SimMan can be programmed with unusual cases, allowing caregivers to practice complex scenarios that are otherwise hard to recreate for quality improvement or education purposes.

AMR has introduced and implemented several programs to benefit the San Diego EMS system:
  - Bariatric ambulance services
- Leadership Education and Development University
  (LEAD U)
- Pre-hospital 12-lead EKG evaluation
- Unique First Responder Agreements detailing our educational
offerings to our partner fire agencies

AMR’s Continuous Quality Improvement program forms the cornerstone of our pre-hospital care delivery system and ensures clinical excellence. Our Medical Director and Clinical and Educational Services staff, Operations Manager and Field Supervisors constantly evaluate our caregivers’ performance and make improvements in order to consistently provide optimal patient care.

AMR’s Medical Director participates in San Diego County’s Protocol Review Task Force which analyzes employee clinical performance and makes recommendations affecting local protocols to the benefit of EMS providers throughout the area.

AMR sponsors local continuing education programs that work to reinforce and hone clinical knowledge and skills each month. These educational opportunities are also offered to our partner fire agencies.

AMR seeks opportunities to participate in medical research studies, such as UCSD’s Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium, to continually improve the care we provide to our patients and improve the pre-hospital health care system.
