AMR has proudly used our extensive resources locally and nationally to help create San Diego’s Regional
Cooperative Care Program (RCCP). The RCCP is a public-private partnership designed by local fire and emergency medical personnel to streamline public safety operations and improve service and care to benefit the community. The importance of coordinated training was proven when a trio of San Diego paramedics representing the RCCP won gold medals at the 2007 Australian Simulation Challenge and the 2007 National EMS Games.

AMR worked with the Fire Chief in the City of La Mesa to
institute a new program through which City paramedics receive intensive
and required training and experience by riding along on AMR ambulances
with AMR personnel. The successful partnership allows paramedics to remain
updated on pre-hospital care and ensures a seamless relationship between
first responders and our EMS staff in the field.

AMR recognizes the benefit of offering highly specialized
services to distinct populations and has operated the only dedicated Critical
Care Transport ambulances in San Diego County for Children’s Hospital
for more than 30 years.

AMR initiated the Training in Motion program comprised
of a fully equipped ambulance housing an interactive medical training mannequin
called SimMan. While using medical mannequins for educational purposes
is becoming more common throughout the EMS industry, AMR is unique in its
pairing of SimMan with an ambulance in the field to provide more realistic
training for employees and fire agency partners.

AMR develops custom solutions with local vendors, including
Encinitas-based ROAM Information Technologies, Inc. ROAM I.T. customized
software for AMR Electronic Patient Care Reports allowing paramedics to
capture information efficiently and completely while accurately and automatically
transferring the information between first responders, paramedics and hospital
staff.
