AMR has provided emergency and non-emergency ambulance service in San Diego County for 60 years since the inception of Hartson Ambulance in 1946.

The local AMR leadership team averages nearly two decades of service in San Diego County.

AMR is the exclusive provider of 911 emergency Advanced Life Support services in much of San Diego County. We also offer non-emergency Basic Life Support, Critical Care and Wheelchair Transportation Services throughout the region.

Nationally, AMR cares for more than four million patients each year, operating in more than 250 locations in 37 states.

AMR San Diego has eight certified State Ambulance Strike Team leaders, and our staff includes the only certified strike team instructors in San Diego County. Just as fire strike teams are sent to use their specialized training to fight wildfires, State Ambulance Strike Teams are mobilized for large scale medical emergencies.
